BWDC Summer Series | June * July * August

Dear Friends,

The BWDC is going to introduce a new series beginning in June... THE SUMMER SERIES. All of the performances will take place in the beautiful Triffo Theatre at MacEwan University. There will be one a month starting in June and will continue through to the beginning of August.
Here is the line-up of three exciting events:

JOSHUA TREE

JOSHUA TREE is a collaboration between Brad Necyk [virtual film], Gary James Joynes [music], Dorrie Deutchendorf [lighting design], and BW! Brian will be joined by spectacular performers Lin Snelling, Piet Defraeye and Deepak Paramashivan [who will also sing with Gary!]. We gave the premiere performance in India in March and are now very excited to be able to perform it here in Edmonton. This new work exploits the potential of the body to communicate through every pore of its being!

WEN WEI DANCE [Canada] / ADARTE COMPANY [Italy]
BAROCCO RAVE
Dancers Alexis Fletcher, Arianna Barr, Adrian De Leeuw and Matthew Wyllie are inspired by the choreography of two dance makers, Wen Wei Wang and Francesca Lettieri who met in Siena, Italy, and are now able to build an international collaboration.

USHA DANCE ENTOURAGE
KHOJ
We are proud to present a final chance for you to experience Usha Gupta's wildly successful creation, KHOJ, which begins its final tour having been performed in 12 cities in India and 7 in Canada, and will now tour once again across Canada. Live music enhances this incredibly sensual dance that is praised for its 'freshness' and its exploration of tradition and innovation.
