Dance celebrates our aliveness in the here and now. All of us experience the beating of our heart.

That is where rhythm begins. Whether we are active doers (dancers) or active witnesses (the audience), we all feel that rhythm and know it together. Contemporary dance celebrates this notion as a powerful tool of communication.

We are honoured to be able to dance on the traditional lands of all the Indigenous people who with us are signatories of Treaty Six. We celebrate their dancing that comes so strongly from the land we all live on, and that powerfully says, 'I am here. I am here now at this time and place.'

As a producer and a presenter of contemporary dance, the Brian Webb Dance Company is a community player. We build paths to experience the many, many ways our diverse community dances. We work to be active in the dance community and in the community at large, to build a pluralistic Canada.

The Brian Webb Dance Company creates dances that are made in collaboration with artists from various media. We define collaboration as the democratic exchange of ideas to make something new. Our collaborations are centered in community, our local community, our regional community and our national community. We celebrate the creative work of all artists committed to the adventure of the new. We are excited to be able to explore and navigate dance that intersects with expresion from other media. Each element connects to the whole.

We create and we present dance in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
