Shruti Kamath - Musician, Sitar

Shruti Kamath was born and raised in Manipal Karnataka. She recieved her initial vocal training in the Hindusanti classical form at the Manipal Institute of Music and Fine Arts under the guidance of Vidwan Sri Madhav Bhat. Subsequently began her sitar lessons with Vidwan D. S. Chalekar, a senior disciple of Ustad Bale Khan, Dharwad.

Shruti Kamath has had the privilige of performing on various prestigeous platforms both in India and internationally. She has contributed her sitar expertise to numerous dance ballet productions alongside Kathak exponents such as Dr. Maya Rao, Nirupama Rajendra, Usha Gupta, Mysore Nagraj, Sharmila Mukherji, Nandini Mehta, and Murli, amogn others. Additionally she has collaborated with renowned playback singers and music directors including, S. P. Balasubramaniam, Kavita Krishnamurti, Suresh Wadkar, Srinivas Khale, Anuradha Marathe, and Sudhir Nayak.

In Bangalor, Shruti Kamath is high sought after by prominent music directors such as Manu Murti, Pravin D. Rao and many more for her contributions to albums, movies and dance productions.
