44 Years Without the Dancing, There Ain't No Dance

Dear Friends,

I hope you’re having a wonderful summer.

I’m just back from 10 days at the Dancing On The Edge Festival in Vancouver. I saw some very inspiring and powerful dance. It never ceases to amaze me how much I love dancing! And you know what that means…

WITHOUT THE DANCING, THERE AIN'T NO DANCE!

I am more than excited to be welcoming the genius of Edouard Lock back to Edmonton.
Edouard, as creator of La La La Human Steps, revolutionized contemporary dance. How can anyone forget those wild performances?! He has created another masterpiece, ECHO for Rachele Buriassi. Once again, his imagination is peerless. ECHO is so beautiful, so contemporary and so about this beautiful ballet dancer’s DANCING!

The second half of this program will feature Vancouver dancers Alexis Fletcher and Ted Littlemore in TUNING. Choreographer, Vanessa Goodman has created a most intimate universe for this dancing couple. When I first saw this dance, I thought I was witnessing a most intimate moment between a couple whose relationship had withstood time. It is beautiful.

I really hope you will join me in celebrating our dancing bodies. Both of these performances will be spellbinding!

And stay tuned; the rest of the 44th season and season subscription will be on sale soon!

Happy Summer,

Brian
