Bboyizm WORLD PREMIERE

Dear Friends,

Okay, here’s one for you – our 2022 season is going to kick off on March 4 & 5 at 8 pm, at the Timms Centre for the Arts. This is the WORLD PREMIERE of IN MY BODY by Canada’s famous bboying (break dance) company, Bboyizm. Bboyizm is beginning their cross Canada tour in Edmonton.

The BWDC is more than excited to be able to offer you the newest dance by Yvon Soglo (aka Crazy Smooth). BWDC took the lead encouraging our CanDance network colleagues to co-produce this much antcipated Bboying spectacle.

IN MY BODY recognizes that bboying has been in existence since the 1970’s. How it’s danced today is very different than in ‘old school break dancing’. IN MY BODY is multigenerational, wildly entertaining and spectacularily danced by bboys and bgirls from Canada and the United States. Isn't it amazing that what started out as a fad in the 1970's, became an around the world phenomenon, a new genre of dancing. And, if there is a dance form that proves WITHOUT THE DANCING, THERE AIN’T NO DANCE, this is it! IN MY BODY will appeal to dance lovers of all ages. To say the least we look forward to seeing you there.

Okay friends, because of COVID, there are only 100 tickets per night. Tickets must be purchased in advanced. When you attend you will be required to show proof of vaccination.

We’re really excited to finally be able to open our season. Both Helen Walkley and MAYDAY performances are being rescheduled. We really appreciate your patience as all of us learn to navigate our way through these times. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate life than by presenting a dance company as full of life as Bboyizm.
